Netherlands defeated Japan 2-1 in the knock stage of the 2019 Women's World Cup to claim the final spot in the quarter-finals. England beat 2011 champions, Japan in the 2019 Women's World Cup, 2-0. Ellen White's double solidified the win for England. England coach Phil Neville made eight changes to his team, which had beaten Argentina. White received a pass from Georgia Stanway, kicked the ball over Ayaka Ymashita's head for the first goal.
