Sweden answered back 6 minutes later as Sofia Jakobsson split two defenders and capitalized from a pass well behind midfield. And the final goal was all Stina Blackstenius, a rebound off a failed header near the goal 47 minutes in.

Germany defeated Nigeria 3-0 in the knockout stage of the 2019 Women's World Cup to advance to the quarter-finals. Germany's Alexandra Popp headed in the first goal of the match 19 minutes into action from an inbounds pass. Germany earned a penalty kick after VAR confirmed 24 minutes in and Germany's Sara Dabritz scored the penalty shot. Germany beat Spain 1-0 in Group Stage Match 2 of the 2019 Women's World Cup. Sara Daebritz scored the only, and winning goal of the game for Germany, securing a spot in the next round. Spain had possession the majority of the time, and it looked like they might pull ahead. It was in the 42nd minute when Daebritz snagged a rebound, and pushed the ball over the line for the goal. Spain had a strong start in the first half of the match, but Germany gained momentum in the second half. This win made Germany unbeatable in their last 14 matches, which was the longest run of any team in France.
Germany defeats China - Group Stage Match 1
Germany won its first of three group stage matches by beating China 1-0 in the opening round of the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in Paris, France. China's led striker Yang Li challenged Germany's goalie Almuth Schult a few times in the first half, hitting the goal post and just missing on an open goal. But Schult played well and never allowed a score throughout. On the 66th minute of the match Germany's Giulia Gwinn kicked in the lone goal, from outside the box at the top of the 18.
