Chile beat Thailand in Group Stage Match three of the 2019 Women’s World Cup, 2-0. The win was bittersweet for the Chilean players because they needed just one more goal in this match for a last-16 tie against England. Forty seven minutes into the match, Thailand’s keeper, Waraporn Boonsing knocked the back into her own goal to score the first point for Chile. 80 minutes in, Chile made their final goal past Boonsing. As the second half began to close, it looked as though Chile could make their much needed third goal, but it wasn't in the cards.
